Our family has grown with the arrival of ten Aldabra Giant Tortoises, gentle giants native to the Seychelles that can live to 200 years. Each tortoise has its own personality, from curious explorers to contented sleepers. Guests can see them from the Aldabra Viewing Deck or while wandering the gardens.
Why do you have Aldabra Tortoises at Santorini?
Aldabra tortoises are not on the endangered list, but they are listed as “Vulnerable” which means the species could become endangered in the future if threats continue. The owners have a passion for the Aldabra Tortoises that they wanted to share with our guests, as well as contribute to the over conservations of these species.
