REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA EXEMPT COUNTRIES

Upon entry at Vilanculos Airport clients from Visa-exempt countries now only need the following:

Pay MZN 650.00 (at the current rate of exchange this is USD 12.00 or ZAR 200.00). There are credit card facilities, but cash is preferred (no change available). MZN, USD, and ZAR accepted.
Passport with 6 months validity AFTER the last day of your stay in Mozambique, plus 3 Blank pages.
Confirmation of round-trip flight details (return tickets).
Letter confirming proof of accommodation (supplied by Santorini on receival of passport details).

Please note: US dollar bills older than 2012 (old-style note with a small head on it) are NOT accepted by customs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-VISA EXEMPT COUNTRIES

Clients from countries that are not exempt will need to apply for a SINGLE-ENTRY Visa. This can be obtained prior to arrival using the following link www.EVisa.gov.mz, alternatively it can be obtained on arrival at Vilanculos Airport, at the cost of USD 150.00.

Upon entry at Vilanculos Airport clients from NON-Visa Exempt countries need the following:

Pay USD 150.00 (at the current rate of exchange this is MZN 9700.00 or ZAR 2750.00). There are credit card facilities, but cash is preferred (no change available). MZN, USD, and ZAR accepted.
Passport with 6 months validity AFTER the last day of your stay in Mozambique, plus 3 Blank pages.
Confirmation of round-trip flight details (return tickets).
Letter confirming proof of accommodation (supplied by Santorini on receival of passport details).

SOUTH AFRICAN PASSPORT HOLDERS

Clients travelling on South African Passports do not require any form of Visa for stays of up to 30 days. Upon entry clients from South Africa will need to produce the following:

Passport with 6 months validity AFTER the last day of your stay in Mozambique, plus 3 Blank pages.
Letter confirming proof of accommodation. (supplied by Santorini on receival of passport details)

TRAVELLING WITH MINORS

If a parent is absent for travel the following documentation is required for entry into Mozambique

A certified letter of consent from the non-accompanying parent

Weather in Vilanculos

Vilanculos experiences a tropical climate with consistent, warm temperatures year-round. Summer months are hot and humid with balmy evenings and one can expect the occasional thunderstorm. Winter months are slightly milder in temperature with minimal rainfall and cooler evenings.

Pack light cotton-based clothing along with a couple of warmer tops for winter evenings (June-August). Don’t forget to pack your camera and binoculars for any keen birders. A sunhat or cap, as well as sunscreen and sunglasses, are essential.
